Why olive oil

Why Olive Oil instead of other fat sources?
Olive Oil is much healthier than any other source of fat present in the human diet, animal fats, grease or butter, and other vegetable oils such as corn oil, sesame oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil etc. It is a key element of the renowned Mediterranean and Cretan diet and is directly responsible for the health benefits of these types of diets.

Olive Oil is preferred to other fat sources because:
• Studies have shown that Olive Oil contains an ideal chemical composition with unique flavors, aromatic, nutritious and organic elements that make it an excellent and irreplaceable food source.
• The calorific value of Olive Oil is much lower than animal fats, and not more than other vegetable oils.
• Olive Oil is the only oil that can be consumed as it is – freshly pressed from the fruit, like any other natural fruit juice. It is a 100% natural product, which is produced with natural methods from the olive, without the addition of chemical enhancers or any further processing.
• Due to its high content in phenols, Olive Oil is particularly resistant to oxidation and rancidity.
• Olive Oil has many culinary uses. It is the main cooking oil in countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea as it contains rich aromas and flavors, which make it particularly delicious. Without masking the flavors and aromas of other spices used when cooking.
• Olive Oil also has the property of maintaining the tenderness of meat, fish and vegetables when cooking.
• Olive Oil is ideal for frying, much more than other oils, as it is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids and natural antioxidants. In contrast to other oils, Olive Oil can be used for frying over and over, without any harmful side-effects.
• Olive Oil is rich in antioxidants such as Vitamin E, carotenoids and phenols, which play a vital role to a balanced diet with many benefits to human health.
