Greece has the highest per head oil consumption worldwide by far than the rest of countries. Worldwide each greek consumes about 30 liters of olive oil per year. In other major oil producing countries of the Mediterranean, annual consumption is approximately 8 to 14 liters per person.
In the countries of Northern Europe and North America per head consumption is incomparably smaller and rated around 0.7 liters a year.
The use of oil but has been rising rapidly in all countries of the world especially in Asia where people untill noe didn't know the beneficial properties as food, as they knew it more as a pharmaceutical and cosmetic product.
